Description

Whatever the field, there is a use for a legal voting system for the purpose of
voting on specific issues. The conventional voting process necessitates the
voter’s actual attendance at a designated site. This physical offline mode of
voting requires excessive human involvement and is susceptible to errors when
handling huge amounts of data. To rectify this, we provide an online e-voting
system that combines real-time retina and fingerprint pattern recognition based
on the minutiae algorithm and Hough transform algortithm. The biometrics of
the user’s retina and fingerprint are scanned during the voting process and
enables voting only when they are positively matched. Retina and fingerprint
patterns needs to be stored prior in the database to identify during the actual
process that eventually enables the voting option for the user. The vote can be
casted only once when all the patterns are positively identified and matched.
To enable more transparency to the system, live updations of the vote are
presented onscreen. The stored finger print and retina image which are
deposited in the database needs to be secure so as to avoid any unauthorised
altercations.
