Description

In today’s evolving cyber security landscape, distributed denial-of-service
(DDoS) attacks have become one of the most prolific and costly threats.
Their capability to incapacitate network services while causing millions of
damage in currency has made effective DDoS detection and prevention
imperative for businesses and government entities alike.
In our project proposal we mainly concentrate on the detection of possible
DDoS attacks and build solutions to prevent the same using multiple methods
based on our application based system. Preparing for the same we implore to
build a model in which an application is installed to a system. Furthermore
the application gets integrated to the network and is constantly induced to
check the network’s incoming traffic and this further utilises the possible
features to avoid or block such possibilities prior to any obscure or bigger
threats. Methods like complete IP blocking, black hole filtering,
casting and an alert notification system can be implemented for the
user to be alerted and take necessary measure for securing their system from
overloading or any other faults. In the given scenario the device and data
of the user is considered to be a prime concern. Apart from that, we are
trying to tackle the problem of getting attacks in ”WhatsApp” as multiple
messages at a time. As it is considered as a DDoS attack from an attacker
and can be solved by utilising the different methods mentioned to solve it.
