Description

Structural design is the primary aspect of civil engineering. The very basis of construction of any residential, educational, dams, bridges etc. is designing. In this project we attempted to learn the process of analysis and design of central library as a dome structure for St Thomas college of engineering and technology, Mattannur. In colleges, the library occupies a prominent position which extends opportunity for self-education to enthusiastic students. Dome is an element of architecture that resembles the hollow upper half of a sphere. They are now wildly used in variety structures. Here we are using AutoCAD software for preparing the site plan, building plan, elevation and section of both ground and first floor. Design and analysis of framed structures and slab were done using ETABS. Also design of footing, dome, staircase and estimation of the structure were done manually.
