
Training and Placement
Moulding Engineers is not the sole responsibility of St. Thomas College of Engineering & Technology. It is an important aspect of the educational philosophy of our institution to supplement its students with exposure to soft skills and research. An effective way for achieving these objectives is to let our students meet, listen and interact with eminent personalities who constitute an inspiring role model in society, whose words can extent students intellectual horizon, whose life embodies them a vision of moral excellence, and edifying messages. Such an interaction shall help in maturing the overall personality and professional capabilities of the students Motivated by these thoughts, two separate programs, namely, personality Development workshop and Professional Development workshops has been initiated.

Training and Placement Department Inassociation with Know Up Knowledge Foundation conducted a session to the 2022-2026 batch to inculcate effective communication skills, team work skills, multi-disciplinary approach, and develop a desire to apply knowledge of engineering for the real-life problems.
Session was taken by Sri. Sreeraj Parakkal. He talked about the various traits for success - creativity, self branding, interview, skills, visualization techniques, time management etc. Not as the usual way, he gives all the ideas through the story of “Puttu kutty”.
The characters are Nani muthashi and some students. In our class he was the Nani muthashi and we are visitors of Nani. He also included some magic technique in this class. The story was going on in a traditional kitchen. He told us how to make our weakness to strengthen through a pot with holes in the kitchen, visualization technique through some books. People like to achieve things which can be done easier and don't want to take risk in life. Competition is much less for them. Few people take risk in their life. Through these he taught the role of positive thinking. Self branding is also included. He indicates the example of eagle for perseverance and hard word then through a task he gave the idea of time management and creativity then he used some techniques of interview and mock interviews were done. At last he mixes all the ingredients and made the puttu very delicious. He actually made a sweet product with all the ideas. Each and every moment is interesting and we were impatiently waited for the other ideas. The class ended with the thought that everyone has the ability to become a delicious puttu. Like Nani Muthashi's puttu.
St Thomas College of Engineering and Technology in association with IGCAR (Indira Gndhi Centre for Atomic Research) has organized a DAE (Dept of Atomic Energy, under Govt of India) Outreach Program for third and final year students, 2018-19, on 28/01/19 (Monday) at our campus.
The initiative aimed at motivating the engineering graduate students and creating awareness about DAE activities and job opportunities in various DAE organizations in India.
The sessions were handled by Shri. C Premjith and Shri. Gaddam Pentaiah from IGCAR.
