Description

Highway pavement is a structure consisting of superimposed layers of processed materials above the natural soil sub-grade, whose primary function is to distribute the applied vehicle loads to the subgrade. Flexible pavements are the major type of pavement use in recent days due to it’s less initial cost compare to rigid pavements. In this project an attempt is made to design a flexible pavement with modified bitumen by using waste cooking oil and crumb tyre rubber at Thana Dhanalakshmi hospital road. The daily traffic require a proper road but because of lack of maintenance the road become damaged and pavement deterioration is taking place like potholes, rutting, disintegration and surface defects, which are studied in this project.
