Description

Traffic congestion is a severe problem across the world and therefore it is time to shift from fixed timer mode to an automated system with decision making capabilities. Controlling the traffic has becomes a major issue because of rapid increase in automobiles and also because of large tine delays between traffic lights. To optimize this problem we are introducing Density Based Portable Trafic Control System. It is an automated
system in which the signal timing changes antomatically on sensing the tratlie density at the junction. Here the traffic density is measured using a presure sensor and according to the mosured density, the traffic lights are controlled thereby reducing the unwanted time delays. Rather than considering every vwhicle egually, priorities are given to emergeney vehicles. These velicles can be controlled using an android application connected to the system via Bluetooth technology. The same can be used by an authorized peron to control the trafic congestion when the automatic mode fails. The highlighting feature of the system is portability concept. The system can be fixed wherever the chances for traffic congestion exist for the short required tine period.
