Water is becoming one of the important and limited resources available to us. Reuse
and recycle is the best option to deal with water scarcity. Therefore an attempt is
made to reuse waste water. Water is the basic necessity of life used for many purpose,
so recycling water is necessary. Considering this in our mind we have established a
waste water treatment plant in our college by using canteen waste water. The treated
water is utilized properly for watering the plants throughout the campus and for toilet
flushing. The canteen waste water is first collected and then subjected to various
treatments. Various tests are done and we obtain purified water, this water is then
used for gardening and toilet flushing.
The development of product of waste water treatment is required to treat the waste
water by passing through the slow sand filter thus for that purpose various test like
alkalinity,hardness,chloride ,turbidity, pH, total solids etc is done and checked if
results for this tests are within permissible limits and then this waste water is used for
the purpose of gardening and toilet flushing.
