The Inauguration of Induction programme for the first year B.Tech students of 2025 - 2029 batch of St.Thomas College of Engineering and Technology, Mattanur, Kannur was held on 11/08/2025, Monday. Rear admiral of Indian Navy(Retd.) and former commanding officer of INS Vikrant, K Mohanan inaugurated the ceremony. Principal Dr. Shinu Mathew John, presided over the function. Rev. Robin Raju, Vicar Bethel Marthoma church Neduvaloor, Er. Rijo Thomas Jose, CEO, STM, Prof. Zubair A P and Mr. Sanjeevan V P, PTA Vice president addressed the gathering.

The one day workshop was organized by the Department of Applied Science and Humanities. The HOD- Mr. Rahul VA, Tech co-ordinator –Ms  Sujisha PP  , Event Coordinator – Ms. Aswathy Kutty P along with 30 students, actively participated in the workshop. The venue of the workshop was Electrical Lab. It started off with the welcoming of the instructor, Mr. Kathiru Santhikumar by the HoD. It was followed by a theory on the introduction of Raspberry Pi microcontroller and its application. This also included a brainstorming session on what other purposes it can be used.

An International Women’s Day Poster Design Contest titled “Empower Her: Design for Change” was held on 5th March 2025 to celebrate women’s empowerment and creativity. The event encouraged participants to express their ideas on gender equality through artistic and impactful poster designs.

On the occasion of National Science Day, observed annually on February 28th, a special Science Quiz Program was organized to celebrate the legacy of Sir C.V. Raman and to foster scientific curiosity among students.

The hands-on experience with flying drones, allowed participants to apply what they have learned in a practical setting. The workshop encouraged active participation through interactive discussions and Q&A sessions, enhancing the learning experience Overall the organization of the workshop was excellent, with smooth transitions between topics and plenty of opportunities for engangement.

The Inauguration of the Induction Programme for the first-year B.Tech students of the 2023–2027 batch at St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology, Mattanur, Kannur, was held on Monday, 21st August 2023. The event marked the official commencement of the induction programme, which is designed to help new students acclimatize to college life, understand the academic and cultural environment, and build a strong foundation for their higher education journey.

A workshop on LED Bulb Manufacturing and Repair was conducted by Mr. Subinlal on 26th May 2023. The session provided practical knowledge about the components, assembly, and functioning of LED bulbs. Participants were given hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing common faults in LED lights. The workshop was highly informative and helped students gain valuable technical skills useful for future applications.

A Guidance and Counseling session was conducted by Ms. Sruthi Kishore on 25th May 2023. The session focused on helping students understand the importance of setting goals and managing stress effectively. Ms. Sruthi provided valuable insights on personal development, emotional well-being, and career planning. The interactive session was highly beneficial and motivated students to approach their academic and personal challenges with confidence.

A talk on Energy Conservation was delivered by Mr. Dileep T. C., Faculty at Energy Management Centre (EMC) Kerala, on 23rd May 2023. He discussed the importance of saving energy and adopting sustainable practices in daily life. The session highlighted various methods and technologies that can help reduce energy consumption and protect the environment. It was an informative and inspiring session that encouraged participants to contribute towards a greener future.

A session on Gender Equality was conducted by Ms. Naile K. N. and Ms. Darsana Damodaran from Snehita, Kudumbashree Mission, on 26th April 2023. The session aimed to create awareness about the importance of equal rights and opportunities for all genders. The speakers emphasized women’s empowerment, social justice, and the need to challenge gender stereotypes. The program was enlightening and inspired participants to promote equality and respect in society.

The Inauguration Ceremony of the Induction Programme for the first-year B.Tech students (2022–2026 batch) of St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology (STCET), Mattanur, was held on 17th October 2022 in the college auditorium, marked by great enthusiasm and academic spirit. The event was formally inaugurated by Mr. KP Jose, Director of Kannur International Airport.

A workshop on "Become a C Programmer" was conducted on 30th May 2022 by Mr. Thomas Varghese, Associate Professor at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering. The session aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of C programming and its practical applications. Mr. Varghese explained key programming concepts with real-life examples and hands-on exercises. The workshop was highly informative and helped participants enhance their coding knowledge and problem-solving skills.
